MergeChat merges people who are near each other — or care about the same place — into one live conversation. Your block, your building, your commute, your kid's school, tonight's game. Use it from the couch, at work, or stuck in traffic. No account, no download, no fees.
No sign-up. You get an anonymous identity automatically. The first time you join a room, pick a map color (that's your dot on the room's map). A name and photo are optional.
The home screen is a set of cards — Traffic, Events, School Pickup, local businesses, community groups and more. Tap a card to see the rooms inside it. Every room is three things at once: a live voice channel, a message board, and a shared map.
Voice never starts on its own — it connects when you tap into a room. Nobody there right now? Leave a message; the next person who opens the room sees it. Drop a pin to mark a spot for everyone in the room.
Tap Rooms → Start a room (or ＋ Start a room on the home screen). Three steps: pick what it's for, give it a name that says what and where (like "Oak St block chat"), then create it. It goes on the map where you are, you join it instantly, and you can share its link so people land right in it. Want it private? Choose Private meetup and you'll get an invite link to send to exactly who you want.
If you're moving faster than 10 mph, voice, reporting and pop-ups lock automatically and unlock when you slow down or stop. Seeing an accident, speed trap, or someone stranded? When you're stopped, drag the matching icon onto the map so people heading that way know.
Voice is per room. You hear the people who are in the same room as you — and rooms are tied to a place or a topic, so the people in them are the ones who actually care about it.

Leave a message on the room's board or drop a pin on its map. The next person who opens the room will see it — handy for a business that's closed or neighbors who check in later.
Yes — every report automatically disappears after 30 minutes, or sooner if enough people nearby vote it cleared.
